UIN Jakarta-PT KAI agree to cooperate in internship program

Bandung, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in the Certified Internship Program (PMMB) at PT KAI Head Office, Bandung, on Thursday (08/29/2019).

The cooperation agreement between UIN Jakarta and PT KAI was signed by the Vice Rector for Cooperation Andi Faisal Bakti and the Human Resources and General Affairs Director of PT KAI Ruli Adi. Also present in the event, Executive Director of the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI) Sofyan Rohidi and a number of PT KAI's staff.

Ruli Adi said, the cooperation in the field of PMMB was carried out to establish a partnership between the world of education and the world of industry (link and match). The goal is that students have the knowledge, skills and experience in the field in accordance with their scientific discipline.

He also said that this collaboration is also one of PT KAI's commitments in helping the university students to gain work experience. “With the existence of PMMB, it is expected to be able to increase the experience of students or graduates,” he said.

According to Ruli, cooperation with universities will continue to be carried out in line with the demands of the business world. This program is also a follow-up to the initiation carried out by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and FHCI.

Meanwhile, Andi Faisal Bakti revealed, it was time for UIN Jakarta to open new insights for students to get to know the world of work from the start. This program is very positive so that students will not only gain skills but also will have a network with the world of work after they graduate.

In addition, PMMB is also in accordance with UIN Jakarta new curicullum, which requires graduates to have a diploma supplement certificate (SKPI). That is, students who graduate not only obtain a diploma but also a certificate of expertise.

Andi admitted that this program has not been fully implemented well. However, he promised to continue to encourage student internships in various companies and agencies.

For information, During the internship, students will work fully in three PT KAI subsidiaries, namely PT Commuter Indonesia, PT Reska Multi Usaha, and PT KA Logistik. Each of these subsidiaries will be occupied by nine interns. Students who successfully finish their internship process and pass the final assessment will be given an internship certificate. (usa/ns)
