UIN Jakarta maximizes disinfectant spraying

Rectorate, UIN News Online – To minimize the spread of COVID-19 in campus, General affairs division, in collaboration with the Health Sciences Faculty (FIKES) UIN Jakarta continues to intensify the spraying of disinfectants throughout the campus area.

Based on UIN News Online observation, Tuesday (03/31/2020), a number of cleaning and security officers worked hand in hand to spray disinfectants in a number of campus areas. Armed with several spraying machines, the appointed officers carry out their duties equally in various designated buildings.

Spraying activities that begin at 08.00 WIB in the morning until afternoon at 15.00 WIB are monitored directly by the Head of Household Subdivision, Tata Taftadjani. “Alhamdulillah, all of our buildings have been sprayed and sterilized,” he explained.

Tata explained that his parties had sprayed disinfectants in a number of areas. Among them are official residence, all student dormitory buildings and ma'had aly, FIDKOM building, FAH Building, FISIP Building, FU Building, Rectorate Building, Student Rector Building, FITK Building, FDI Building, Library Center, Psychology Building, and FISIP Building.

“Fikes and FK has been sprayed independently, followed by the FEB and FST,” he said.

Tata also added that the spraying activity itself is carried out using materials available at the FIKES Laboratory, both the main material for disinfectants and personal protective equipment. Materials commonly used for laboratory practicum are diverted while their use as material for disinfectants.

“During this emergency situation, we are forced to use the first available material. Hopefully this is effective in minimizing the chain of transmission and infection,” he added.

In 19-20 liters of disinfectant fluid, continued Tata, requires a main material equivalent to 40 ml. “Alhamdulillah, today we get 1 liter of disinfectant material from Fikes, and we will be able to reach many areas that need to be sprayed,” he said.

The disinfectant spraying activity is carried out by prioritizing areas that are considered very potential. In addition to the workspace, potential areas targeted for spraying are stairs and doors.

“Hopefully, this activity can minimize or prevent the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus,” he concluded. (usa/zm)
