UIN Jakarta Library Boosts Collection to 48,363 Book Titles, Strengthening Literacy and Research
Main Library, UIN Online News – As of mid-2025, the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library has recorded a total collection of 48,363 book titles. This expansion is part of the university's commitment to strengthening academic literacy culture and supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education: Education, Research, and Community Service).
The Coordinator of Library Collection Development, Mudianah Mahmud, S.IP., explained that collection development is carried out in stages, considering academic needs and global reference trends. “Our collection now covers various fields of knowledge, ranging from Islamic studies, social sciences and humanities, to science and technology,” she explained.
She added that digital transformation is also a top priority to address the challenges of the information age and high student mobility. “Library digitalization is a must. We want to build the library as an active, dynamic, and easily accessible knowledge ecosystem, not just a place to borrow books,” she revealed.
In addition to enriching its physical collection, the UIN Jakarta Library continues to strengthen its information technology-based services. The academic community—including students, lecturers, and educational staff—can access the catalog through the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) system at http://tulis.uinjkt.ac.id. Users can also utilize various electronic resources such as e-books, scientific journals, and the campus's digital repository through the integrated platform at http://repository.uinjkt.ac.id/dspace.
With a continually growing collection and continuously innovating services, the UIN Jakarta Library affirms its role as an inclusive, progressive, and globally competitive academic literacy center.
