UIN Jakarta Leaders Welcome Class of 2025: “Master Technology, Nurture Talent, and Embrace Global Collaboration”
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — As part of the Introduction to Academic Culture and Student Affairs (PBAK) 2025, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta introduced its new cohort of students through a series of presentations delivered by the university’s vice rectors and key administrative leaders on Wednesday (August 27, 2025).
The first session was delivered by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., who warmly welcomed the incoming students and highlighted UIN Jakarta’s achievements as one of the leading Islamic higher education institutions globally, particularly in academic performance.
Prof. Tholabi urged the new students to embrace technological literacy as a critical skill for their academic journey.
“In the era of Artificial Intelligence, you must master these technologies and play an active role in digital era, because your academic success will also be shaped by your ability to navigate the technological advancement,” he said.
Following this, Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A., explained the university’s funding structure sourced from state budget allocations (APBN), including single tuition fee (UKT), government funding, and UIN Jakarta’s own revenue streams, such as its business units and partnerships— notably the UIN Jakarta Hospital.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., provided an overview of the university’s student engagement and talent development programs. He introduced various organizations including Student Executive Board (DEMA), Student Senate (SEMA), Study Program Student Associations (HMPS), Student Activity Units (UKM), and Semi-Autonomous Organizations (LSO), as well as the Student Achieve Award (SAA).
“Each organization develops its own competitive units that represent UIN Jakarta in various events, from regional competitions in West Java or Banten to national-level events such as student sports weeks,” he explained.
Prof. Ali Munhanif emphasized that UIN Jakarta ensures students have ample opportunities, recognition, and support to explore their talents while pursuing academic success.
The orientation continued with Vice Rector for Cooperation, Prof. Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., who highlighted UIN Jakarta’s extensive network of collaborations: 71 international partnerships, including with Al-Azhar University, and 571 domestic agreements with higher education institutions, madrasah schools, government ministries, and local agencies.
“We hope that starting today, you will begin fostering the right attitude to support UIN Jakarta’s Green Campus initiative, including something as simple yet vital as disposing of waste properly,” he reminded students.
The session concluded with Head of the Bureau for Academic, Student, and Cooperation Administration (AAKK), Dr. Hj. Sri Ilham Lubis, Lc., M.Pd., who provided an overview of the bureau’s roles in coordinating services across academic, administrative, student, and partnership affairs.
