UIN Jakarta-Kemenlu Soon to Launch a Book Named the Gem of Heaven
Main Auditorium, UIN NEWS Online-- Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) UIN Jakarta and the Directorate of General Information and Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has scheduled to launch the book Jewel of Heaven: A Portrait of Religious Life in Indonesia in the Main Auditorium Harun Nasution, Wednesday (31/05/16). This book presents and shows the reality of daily life interaction among religions, the beauty of harmony and tolerance among various religious communities in Indonesia as a fact that has long been rooted and is more dominant patterns.
The book is compiled by writers across faculties at UIN Jakarta, namely Prof. Dr. H. Abuddin Nata, MA (Faculty Dirasat Islamiyah), Prof. Dr. M. Ikhsan Tanggok, MA (Faculty Ushuludin), Prof. Dr. Dien Madjid, MA, and Dr. Rumadi, MA (Faculty of Sharia and Law). While the editor is Prof. Arskal M. Salim, GP., MA., PhD, Drs. Imam Subchi, MA, Wahdi Sayuti, MA, and Mu'min roup, MA.
Technically, this book consists of two parts, the introduction and discussion. Each section is organized in five chapters of discussion. The introduction consists of the background, purpose, scope, framework approach, and the structure of the book.
The first part of the Study of Theoretical Tolerance And Relationships Interfaith consisting of five chapters, including Understanding Religion and elements: Historical entry of Big Religions to Indonesia, Religious Tolerance and Relationships Religions by Country (Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, Regulation and institutional Relationship between religions, tolerance and inter-religious relations), Supporting factor of Tolerance and Relationship between religion and Tolerance Challenges and Strategies Strengthening Religious Harmony.
The second part of the Tolerance and Interfaith Relations Level Praxis consisting of five chapters, including in Jakarta, Central Java (Semarang), Bali, Bangka Belitung and West Kalimantan (Pontianak).
The book is expected to inspire religious adherents in some parts of Indonesia or outside the country, who are still not able to develop a harmonious relationship between religions. Even for the believers outside the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, which often conflict in the name of religion, and it requires the establishment of a safe atmosphere, peace and prosperity in their country.
