UIN Jakarta is Ready to Support the National Movement of Mental Revolution

Jakarta, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta is committed to support the implementation of the National Movement of Mental Revolution (GNRM) which initiated by the government through the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK).

This was said by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis after signing the contract and the GNRM self-management technical guidance event at The Grove Suite Kuningan, Jakarta, along with 35 other national universities that are members of the Indonesian Rector's Forum (FRI) on Thursday (07/21/2022).

Alhamdulillah, this year we are invited to make GNRM a success. Insha Allah, we will carry out the program on campus through coaching programs for students and the community,” said Rector Amany.

It is known that Kemenko PMK decided 35 national universities that passed the selection as recipients of the 2022 GNRM Program Self-Management Fund. Besides UIN Jakarta, a number of Islamic religious universities also passed the selection, such as UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Others such as IPB University, ISBI Bandung, ISI Yogyakarta, and Duta Wacana Christian University.

On the same occasion Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Muhadjir Effendy said that the university was involved because of its important role in strengthening Indonesia's human resources. "We hope that the involvement of universities will strengthen the role and function of higher education in order to create outstanding human resources who have the spirit of Pancasila in responding to future challenges,” said Muhadjir.

On the same occasion, the Chair of Indonesian Rector’s Forum (FRI) Panut Mulyono added, universities will oversee all activities in order to make GNRM a success.

Meanwhile, Chancellor Amany added, UIN Jakarta has prepared a number of programs in order to realize the GNRM goals.

“Some of these programs are community service programs for the academic community, mainstreaming religious moderation, community economic empowerment,” she said. (zm/usa)
