UIN Jakarta is Implementing Green Campus Program and received support from BJB Syariah Bank

AUK Bureau Conference Room, UIN News Online- UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta's efforts in implementing green campus in various academic and non-academic service sectors have received support from Bank BJB Syariah. The support is given directly by BJB Syariah through a grant of trash bins according to green campus standards to be used throughout the campus environment.

The handover of the trash can grant itself was carried out in a friendly activity and symbolic procession from the President Director of Bank BJB Syariah, Arief Setyahadi, to the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A. in the General Administration and Personnel Bureau (AUK) Conference Room, Tuesday (10/12/2024).

Also witnessing the handover were a number of leaders from UIN Jakarta and Bank BJB Syariah such as Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Imam Subchi, M.A., and Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs, Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., the Heads of Bureau and Head of Section at UIN Jakarta.

In his speech, Rector Asep Jahar expressed his appreciation and gratitude to UIN Jakarta academicians for the support provided by Bank BJB Syariah. According to him, this trash bin grant is not only physical assistance, but also a symbol of joint commitment in preserving the campus environment.

“UIN Jakarta's Green Campus will run consistently and sustainably. This grant is one of the real steps to create a more environmentally friendly campus environment,” he said.

Through this collaboration, continued the Rector, UIN Jakarta's commitment as a university that cares about environmental issues will be stronger. The handover of the trash bin grant is also expected to be the beginning of other larger initiatives, in line with UIN Jakarta's mission to become a green, modern, and sustainability-minded campus.

Furthermore, the bins will be distributed to various strategic points in the campus environment, including faculties, Rectorate Building, Harun Nasution Auditorium, Postgraduate School (SPS), and Teacher Development Center (PPG). With this facility, students, lecturers, and staff are expected to be able to more easily sort organic and inorganic waste, thus supporting better waste management.

Meanwhile, President Director Arief Setyahadi, revealed that this grant is part of Bank BJB Syariah's corporate social responsibility (CSR) in supporting environmental preservation. “We hope that this collaboration will not only support UIN Jakarta's Green Campus program, but also inspire other campuses to move in the same direction,” he explained.
