UIN Jakarta Inaugurates New PPPK Librarians, Emphasizes Integrity and Digital Innovation

Academic Building Lounge, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially inaugurated a number of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) and appointed them as Functional Librarians at the University's Main Library. The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony, held at the Academic Building Lounge on Friday (6 March 2026), marked the appointment of nine librarians as part of the university's ongoing efforts to strengthen its human resources in support of high-quality academic services.

The ceremony was attended by Head of the Bureau of General Administration and Personnel (AUK), Dr. Nanang Fatchurochman, S.H., S.Pd., M.Pd., accompanied by Head of the UIN Jakarta Main Library, Agus Rifai, S.Ag., S.S., M.Ag., Ph.D. The event underscored the university's commitment to enhancing the professionalism and capacity of its library personnel.

In his remarks, Dr. Nanang described the appointments as the culmination of a rigorous administrative process conducted with professionalism and integrity. He encouraged the newly inaugurated librarians to regard their appointments as both a blessing and a responsibility entrusted to them.

"This achievement is the result of an extraordinary journey and a blessing from Allah. The state has always been present to support us. I encourage all of you to uphold dedication, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility in serving the nation," he said.

Dr. Nanang also highlighted the increasingly strategic role of university libraries in the digital era. He emphasized that libraries should no longer be viewed merely as repositories of books but as professionally managed centers of knowledge that serve as gateways to global information and symbols of academic excellence.

"A library is our window to the world. It should never be seen simply as a place to store books, but as a dynamic institution that is managed professionally. In this era of digital transformation, I hope all of you will continue strengthening your expertise and advancing the digitalization of library services," he added.

He expressed confidence that the professionalism, innovation, and collaborative spirit of the newly appointed librarians would further elevate the quality of UIN Jakarta's library, enabling it to achieve greater recognition at both the national and international levels in line with the university's internationalization agenda.

The ceremony concluded with the official oath-taking, the signing of the appointment documents by the newly inaugurated officials and witnesses, followed by a congratulatory session marking the beginning of their new responsibilities.
