UIN Jakarta Inaugurated 512 Professional Teachers to Affirm Commitment for Indonesia's Golden Generation

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held an official inauguration ceremony of professional teachers for Teacher Professional Education (PPG) in the first batch of academic year 2024/2025. The event, which themed “Creating Excellent Professional Teachers for Indonesia's Golden Generation”, took place at Harun Nasution Auditorium on Saturday (21/12/2024).

In her report, the Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan (FITK), Prof. Siti Nurul Azkiyah, M.Sc., Ph.D., said that there are 512 participants in the inauguration of Batch 1 professional teachers for the 2024/2025 academic year with a very good pass rate, reaching 99.22%. “This is an extraordinary increase because when we started from 80%, but now we have a significant increase to almost 100%. This is the result of collaborative hard work between study programs, deans, and all parties involved,” he explained.

The Rector's Decree on professional teacher graduation was announced by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FITK, Dr. Yanti Herlanti, M.Pd. The letter stated that the number of students who graduated from PPG in Batch 1 consists of 497 people from the Islamic Education Study Program and 15 people from the Madrasah Program, with a total of 512 people.

Furthermore, the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., led the inauguration of professional teachers. “May Allah SWT always bestow grace, guidance, and inayah to you on your duty as educators,” he hoped in his speech.

The event continued with the reading of the Indonesian Teacher Pledge by the inaugural participants. In his speech, the Rector emphasized the importance of sincerity in carrying out the role of a teacher. “As teachers, we teach not only hoping that they become smart, but delivering knowledge with prayer so that the knowledge is useful. The most important thing in elementary and high school education is to form a personality, because the subject matter can be improved over time,” he said, quoting advice from Mbah Maimoen.

The representative of the inaugural participants, Endang Novi Kusmiyati, S.Pd.I., expressed her gratitude and hope. “This procession is not the end of the struggle, but the beginning of our duties in the community to develop the knowledge we have gained. Holding a professional degree is both an honor and a mandate that must be accounted for,” she said.

One of the inaugural participants, Ahmad Fauzi Kurniawan, also expressed his impression. "I feel happy and touched to be inaugurated along with my batchmates, especially in Batch 1 of 2024. In the future, we will continue to develop our knowledge to become professional teachers. For my friends, stay optimistic to become great teachers because we have earned the title of professional teachers,” he said in a brief interview after the inauguration procession.

The professional teacher inauguration event drew so many congratulations from various parties.

First, the Head of Madrasah Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Riau Islands Province, H. Subadi, M.Si., “We from the Riau Islands would like to thank the faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Science of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta for all the help and knowledge that has been given to us. Hopefully, the professional teachers who have passed PPG this year, can provide progress in the form of knowledge in madrasah (school) and we also hope that the children in madrassah with the impact of this professional teacher, can become knowledgeable and have good morality,” he said online.

Secondly, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Mu'ti, M.Ed, “Congratulations to the participants of the inauguration of PPG professional teachers at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Hopefully you can continue to improve your quality as professional educators and carry out the noble task of educating the nation's children. Once again, I congratulate you on the inauguration of all of you from the PPG UIN Jakarta program,” he explained in a short video.

Third, the Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017-2022 period, Anies Baswedan: “Congratulations on the inauguration of professional teachers to all PPG students for the 2024/2025 term, I hope that the knowledge and experience gained during the teacher professional education process will become valuable provisions to become professional educators, with integrity, inspiring, enlightening, moving. Continue to serve wholeheartedly and contribute to the next generation of a superior, noble and competent nation, congratulations on carrying out a very noble mandate as a teacher,” he said in a short video.

In addition, similar remarks were also delivered by the Chairperson of the Indonesian Teachers Association of DKI Jakarta Province, H. Djamalludin, M.Pd.; National Motivator, Nanang Qosim Yusuf; Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Prof. Achmad Ubaedillah, M.A., Ph.D.; and Head of Bintal Kopassus TNI AD, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Supyan Munawar, S.Ag.
