UIN Jakarta Hosts National Gathering of MAPK Alumni Across Indonesia
FISIP, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is hosting the National Gathering (Silatnas) of Madrasah Aliyah Program Khusus (MAPK) Alumni from across Indonesia at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), from Wednesday to Thursday, June 25–26, 2025. This event carries the theme "38 Years of MAPK Serving and Making an Impact," serving as a reflection of MAPK's long-standing contribution in producing knowledgeable, moderate, and dedicated Muslim generations for the nation and state.
The Silatnas was officially opened by the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., who, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of maintaining academic integrity amidst the rapid flow of technological and informational developments.
"Amidst the torrent of instant information, we need a generation of learners who are not only intellectually smart, but also spiritually profound and morally strong," he stated.
UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., also attended the event along with the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Dzuriyatun Toyibah M.Si., M.A., UIN Jakarta Lecturer Rizaludin Kurniawan, S.Ag., M.Si., as well as other university leaders and invited guests.
The series of Silatnas activities includes an alumni talk show featuring prominent figures from various cohorts and professions, as well as a National Seminar on Sharia Economy and Islamic Philanthropy, which discusses the strategic role of Islamic economics in national development and community empowerment. The event also features a National Deliberation (Rembuk Nasional) which serves as a dialogue forum to formulate the future direction of MAPK alumni.
MAPK is known as an Islamic-based secondary education program established through Minister of Religious Affairs Decree Number 73 of 1987. MAPK was designed as an excellent program to produce young Muslim generations who have a balanced mastery of Islamic and general sciences, broad perspectives, and the ability to understand the diversity of religious thought in society.
Through this Silatnas momentum, MAPK alumni across Indonesia are strengthening their commitment to continue serving and making a real impact on the nation's progress, whether through education, socio-religious pathways, bureaucracy, or other strategic fields.
