UIN Jakarta Hosts Fun Run 2025 to Celebrate 68th Anniversary with Thousands of Participants
Jakarta, UIN Online News — Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta marked its 68th Anniversary with Fun Run 2025, held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) on Saturday (September 13, 2025), involving faculty members, students, alumni, and the general public.
The five-kilometer run attracted around 1,000 participants, starting in front of the Indonesia Museum, circling the Archipelago Lake, and competing to the finish line back at the museum.
In his remarks, UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation to all participants from across the university community and beyond. He also reminded everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
“Thank you to all leaders and participants who joined us today. Let’s continue to live healthily, eat nutritious food, and always remember to drink enough water, especially during athletic events,” he advised.
The celebration continued with the Chairman of UIN Jakarta’s 68th Anniversary Committee, Drs. H. Teguh Sarwono, M.Si., who shared that the Fun Run was more than just a race.
“This event began with a Cut of Time to mark the start, continued with ‘Run for Fun’ and ‘Dance for Joy,’ and concluded with exciting prizes. We want to strengthen our bonds within our academic community while promoting lifestyle, sportsmanship, and togetherness values that align with the anniversary theme,” he said.
Siti Ummi Masruroh, M.Sc., Chair of the Fun Run 2025 Committee, provided technical guidance on pacing for participants.
“There are three pace categories—7, 8, and 9 minutes per kilometer. But if you are already exhausted, you could just walk,” she explained, ensuring inclusivity for runners of all levels.
The event concluded successfully, leaving participants both energized and delighted. From start to finish, enthusiasm was high and the atmosphere remained cheerful.
