UIN Jakarta holds international webinar on the women’s role in civilization
Rectorate – Center for the Study of Gender and Child (PSGA) of UIN Jakarta holds international seminar themed “Women’s Role in civilization: Building a New Normal” on Tuesday, (12/22/2020) through zoom application and livestreamed from YouTube.
Present in the webinar, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, Vice Rectors, Bureau Chiefs and academic community of UIN Jakarta. Also present in the event, Minister of Women’s Affairs of Afghanistan Hasina Safi, Indonesian Ambassador to Afghanistan Arief Rachman, and Expert Staff for Relations between Central and Regional Institutions, Ministry of Environment and Forestry Winarni Monoarfa.
Moderated by Maila Husni Rahiem and Siti Nurul Azkiyah, this webinar also presents Professor of UIN Jakarta Amelia Fauzia, Dean of Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training Sciences Sururin, Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology Lily Surraya Eka Putri, Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences Zilhadia, Dean of Faculty of Psychology Zahrotun Nihayah, and Deputy Country Representative for UN Women in Afghanistan Allison Miriam Davidian. They will provide a presentation about the role of women in the new normal era
Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her opening speech said that this international webinar is an outstanding moment to share ideas and experiences between Indonesia and Afghanistan.
“On this international webinar, we will share the visions on how women’s leader can establish this new normal through reassuring women roles in preserving the wellbeing of families, environment, technology utilization, rendering societal norms in the new normal era and currating collective responses,” said Rector.
She also added that education creates a pathway to achieve success for girls and womens by overcoming challanges of inequality, justice, and discrimination. In the world vastly expanding use of technology in classroom, and especially its roles on education during covid-19 pandemic
“All sectors investing in education must commit to advancing policies and services that recognize the importance of ensuring quality,” she added
Furthermore, she continued, all women leaders should work together to bridge tha gap between this crisis, this can be achieved by organizing an international collective responses to the syndemic.
“This will build the capacity to establish new norms, alleviating the burdens and inequalities of the current crisis,” said Rector.
On same occasion, the Minister of Women Affairs of Afghanistan H.E Hasina Safi in congratulates UIN Jakarta for the initiative in holding this international webinar. “It is worth to mention that the webinar itself is a process or an approach we choose that the women in the world have figured out a very effective mechanism in order to move to a new normal era,” said Safi.
She also said the the Ministry of Women Affairs of Afghanistan has signed a MoU with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs “We are going to coordinate and learn from each other experiences in the sector of education, health education, women empowerment, and women economic empowerment,” she said.
