UIN Jakarta Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony
Ciputat, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta-Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and People’s Housing (PUPR) celebrates the start of construction of Rusunawa (low-cost apartment) with an official groundbreaking ceremony, at Pisangan, Ciputat, South Tangerang, Tuesday, (07/25/2018). Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA, was joined by M Hidayat from the Ministry of PUPR to mark this exciting venture with a groundbreaking ceremony by pressing the siren button.
Also present in the event, all Vice Rector, Deans, Bureau Chiefs, Officials from South Tangerang City Government, Tangerang Selatan Resort Police, Ciputat Sector Police, and Ciputat Military Rayon Commander.
M Hidayat in his remarks said, the fully-furnished Rusunawa is a grant from the Ministry of PUPR for UIN Jakarta “The handover ceremony from the Ministry of PUPR to UIN Jakarta, will be carried out after the building is completed” said Hidayat.
In response, Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA said that the development of Rusunawa aims to provide better services to its students “With the increasing number of UIN Jakarta students every year, automatically, we have to prepare more dormitories,” said Dede.
Rector also added that Rusunawa will be prioritized for international students from various countries, especially South African students. This is due to South Africa was the first country to recognize the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
“With the construction of this Rusunawa, the activities of the students will be more controlled. If they live in boarding houses, the campus will find it difficult to monitor their activities,” he added.
The construction of the 4-storey building will take place over the next five months. The construction of the building is done by PT Wijaya Karya Pembangunan Bangunan Tbk along with PT Parigraha Konsultan as a consultant. (usa)
