UIN Jakarta Holds Eid 1447 H Halalbihalal to Strengthen Solidarity and Academic Brotherhood
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held its annual Halalbihalal celebration to commemorate Eid al-Fitr 1447 H on Wednesday (8 April 2026) at the Harun Nasution Auditorium. Carrying the theme "Nurturing Silaturahmi and Strengthening the Brotherhood of the Academic Community," the gathering served as an opportunity to reinforce unity and strengthen relationships among members of the university community following the holy month of Ramadan.
The event was attended by Dra. Hj. Helmi Halimatul Udhma, M.Si., wife of the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., alongside UIN Jakarta Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Jakarta, Dr. KH. Muhammad Faiz Syukron Mal Makmun, Lc., M.A., the university's vice rectors, deans and vice deans, the Director of the Graduate School, bureau heads, institute and center directors, unit leaders, and representatives of the student body.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar described UIN Jakarta as a shared home where members of the academic community dedicate themselves professionally while contributing to the advancement of higher education. He encouraged everyone to preserve the institutional legacy that has evolved from the Academy of Religious Sciences (ADIA) into today's UIN Jakarta.
"UIN Jakarta is our home—a place where we work, interact, and earn our livelihood. Let us protect and preserve it together because serving this institution is both our commitment and our destiny," he said.
The Rector also highlighted the importance of forgiveness as the central message of Halalbihalal. He invited all members of the university community to let go of past misunderstandings and personal grievances so they could move forward together with renewed sincerity and mutual respect.
"I hope that any hurt feelings or misunderstandings among us can be sincerely forgiven and released. Carrying the burden of resentment makes it difficult for us to move forward with peace and confidence," he added.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. KH. Muhammad Faiz Syukron Mal Makmun, Chairman of MUI Jakarta, offered a broader perspective on the significance of silaturahmi, particularly for university students. He explained that building relationships with people from diverse backgrounds enables students to better understand their own potential while expanding their horizons beyond familiar environments.
"The world is far larger than the environment we encounter every day. Silaturahmi broadens our perspective and reminds us that opportunities extend well beyond our hometowns. For university students, interacting with peers from different regions and even other countries is an important way to understand the knowledge and skills society truly needs," he explained.
He further emphasized that collaboration among UIN Jakarta students from different academic disciplines would become a valuable asset for Indonesia's future development.
"I firmly believe that when UIN Jakarta students from diverse fields unite and work together to build the nation, they will contribute to creating an Indonesia that is stronger and better than it is today," he concluded.
