UIN Jakarta Holds AIUA Visitation Simulation

Jakarta, UIN News Online – Located at Kristal Hotel, Terogong Raya, Cilandak, UIN Jakarta hosted the Training of the Asian Islamic University Quality Assurance Association (AIUA-QA) Assessor. This event is based on the plan to be held from 11-13 October 2018 at Hotel Kristal. After the Training program, activities will be continued at the UIN Jakarta, on the 14th to 15th October 2018.

At the opening ceremony, Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dede Rosyada, MA., highly appreciated the activity. According to him, Islamic Higher Education at the Asian level is indeed very necessary to have an independent quality assurance institution so that the uniqueness and characteristics of this Islamic university can be recorded well. Meanwhile the President of AIUA, Prof. Yudian Wahyudi, M.AA, said more or less the same thing, that public universities have long established quality assurance associations, so now is the right time for Islamic universities in Asia to have their own quality assurance standards.

Based on the schedule released by the committee there are several important topics that will be discussed in this AIUA Accessories Training activity. These important topics include basic competencies of AIUA assessors, Islamic higher education in Asia, quality assurance subjects in Islamic universities members of AIUA, ethical and cultural sensitivity, AIUA assessor competency practices through case studies, PDCA approach to AIUA quality assurance, assessment preparation to the field, simulation of field interviews, and making assessment reports.

From 14 to 15 October 2018, the event will be continued with field visitation to campus 1 of UIN Jakarta. UIN Jakarta will be the first university to be visited by AIUA assessors.

For information, AIUA is an association of Islamic universities in Asia which was established in 2015. The main purpose of this association is to help association members to strengthen the tertiary institutions through collaboration to get their own distinctions in terms of education, research and community service using Islamic approaches.
