UIN Jakarta Holds a Ceremony for National Santri Day: Continuing the Struggle, Embracing the Future
Student Center Field, UIN News Online – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a solemn ceremony on Tuesday (22/10) to commemorate National Santri Day (HSN) 2024, with the theme "Continuing the Struggle to Embrace the Future" The ceremony, which took place at the university's Student Center Field, was led by UIN Jakarta Rector, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.
The event opened with the raising of the Indonesian flag, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, by all participants. The ceremony continued with the reading of Pancasila by Drs. Saroni, Head of General Affairs, and the preamble to the 1945 Constitution by Kustiwan S.Ag., M.A., Ph.D., Head of the Language Development Center.
In his address, Prof. Asep highlighted the significance of National Santri Day, urging santri to remember their historical role and maintain their dedication to upholding the values of the Republic of Indonesia. “This commemoration serves as a reminder for santri to stay true to their original mission and continuously fight for the values of NKRI in their journey,” he said.
Following the speech, participants sang the Santri Day Mars, and Dr. Muhammad Suryadinata, M.A., Head of UPT Mahad Al-Jamiah, led the Santri Day pledge. The event concluded with a prayer led by M. Furqon, S.Pd.I., M.A., Head of the Student Affairs Team.
As part of the continued celebrations, UIN Jakarta will hold a Sarasehan, a forum for santri and pesantren representatives to discuss ideas for advancing the pesantren world. “This activity aims to foster dialogue and innovation in the development of pesantren,” Prof. Asep added.
