UIN Jakarta Holds 139th Graduation Ceremony, Emphasizes Religiosity, Intelligence, and Social Impact

Auditorium Harun Nasution, Berita UIN Online — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held its 139th Open Senate Graduation Ceremony for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs for the 2025/2026 academic year at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Sunday (08/02/2026). The ceremony was conducted over two days under the theme “Digital Society: A Generation that is Religious, Smart, and Impactful to Society.”

In this graduation period, UIN Jakarta officially conferred degrees upon 930 graduates, divided into two sessions. On the second day alone, 467 graduates were officially inaugurated, consisting of 228 from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK), 103 from the Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH), 16 from the Faculty of Psychology, 38 from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), and 82 from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST).

The Open Senate Session was formally opened by the Chair of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada, M.A. The event was also attended by Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., Vice Rector for General Administration Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A., Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Cooperation Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., along with deans and members of the academic community.

The announcement of the list of outstanding graduates was delivered by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. Several students were recognized for their academic excellence, including Bobi Erno Rusadi (PhD FITK) with a GPA of 3.89, Siti Ida Husniati (Master’s FSH) with 3.86, and Tanjung Kunti Yuniasari (Master’s FST) with 3.76.

Other top graduates included Hilmi Anwar Al Mughni (Bachelor’s FITK), Amalia Putri Pebryanti (Bachelor’s FSH), Nurul Dea Amalia (Bachelor’s Psychology), Vita Nuraini (Bachelor’s FST), and Tiana Nurhaliza Utami (Bachelor’s FISIP), each achieving outstanding academic performance.

In his speech, Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar emphasized that academic achievement alone is not sufficient for future success. He stressed that graduates must also be equipped with strong character, social communication skills, and readiness to face global competition.

“A high GPA is only one part of success. It must be accompanied by mature character and strong social communication skills. The challenges ahead will be far more complex,” he stated.

Quoting Albert Einstein, the Rector reminded graduates to keep moving forward in life and continue developing themselves beyond graduation.

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving,” he added.

During the ceremony, the Rector also led a humanitarian fundraising initiative through the UIN Jakarta Social Trust Fund (STF), encouraging graduates and attendees to support students in need. The initiative successfully raised more than IDR 10 million in donations within a short time.

Representing alumni, Sidiq Permana, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of NBS, highlighted the importance of character, networking, and continuous learning in the modern workforce. He emphasized that academic knowledge alone is not enough to create meaningful societal impact.

Meanwhile, student representative Vita Nuraini from the Mathematics Study Program encouraged graduates to transform their academic knowledge into real contributions for society.

“Our knowledge and experiences should not remain personal achievements, but must be transformed into real contributions in our respective fields,” she said.

The 139th Graduation Ceremony marks a new beginning for UIN Jakarta graduates to step into society as individuals who are religious in values, smart in thinking, and impactful in action.
