UIN Jakarta-Hayrat Foundation Launches Ayasofya Dakwah Center

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis inaugurated the opening of Ayasofya Dakwah Center, Wednesday (03/16/2022), located at the 3th floor of the library building, campus I of UIN Jakarta.

Also Present in the event, Turkish Ambasaddor to Indonesia H.E. Aşkın Asan, President of Hayrat Foundation Indonesia Cemal Sahin,  Rector of Darussalam Gontor University  Hamid Fahmy Zarkasyi, Vice Rector for Student Affairs of UIN Jakarta Arief Subhan, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development of UIN Jakarta Lily Surayya Eka Putri, Dean of FDIK UIN Jakarta Suparto and other invited guests.

Dean of FDIK UIN Jakarta Suparto in his remarks explained that the establishment of the Ayasofya Dakwah Center was a follow-up to the MoU between the Hayrat Foundation Turkey and UIN Jakarta which was carried out several years ago.

“Ayasofya Dakwah Center will become a reference center for studies and also provide free Turkish language course, civilization studies, and Islamic studies,” he said.

On the same occasion, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis said that the establishment of Ayasofya Dakwah Center will strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Turkey. She also hopes that the Agyasofya Da'wah Center will drives future collaboration between the two countries “Especially in the fields of education,” she said.

The inauguration ceremony of the Ayasofya Dakwah Center was closed with the inscription signing carried out by Rector Amany Lubis and President of Hayrat Foundation Indonesia Cemal Sahin and witnessed by Turkish Ambasaddor to Indonesia H.E. Aşkın Asan.

For information Hayrat Foundation was established in 1974 in Isparta, Turkey, by Ahmed Husrev Altınbaşak, successor of Imam Bediuzzaman Said Nursi. This non-profit foundation is already present in countries with a majority Muslim population, such as Indonesia and Malaysia. In addition to the free Turkish language course, Hayrat Foundation Indonesia also active in various social programs. (usa)
