UIN Jakarta Goes to China, 10 FITK Students Sent to International Mobility Program at Yunnan University

FITK Building, UIN Online News — The Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training (FITK) of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta has sent ten of its students to participate in a Student Mobility Program at one of China’s leading universities, Yunnan University.

Yunnan University, located in Kunming, China, is a prestigious public university consistently ranked among the best in Yunnan Province. Founded in 1922, the university is renowned for its scenic campus and outstanding programs in ethnology, ecology, and microbiology.

The program, held from November 10–19, 2025, offers participants a series of academic enrichment activities designed for ten selected participants with international academic perspective building by cultivating cross-cultural academic experiences among students..

They are five students from the English Education Program, one from Arabic Education, one from Islamic Education Management, one from Social Studies Education, one from Biology Education, and one from Physics Education.

In an official statement received by UIN Online News on Wednesday (12/11/2025), FITK’s Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Salamah Agung, M.A., Ph.D., stated that this initiative represents a strategic move by the faculty to prepare globally competitive graduates.

“This Student Mobility Program reflects our commitment to developing competitive students in education so they can thrive on the international stage,” she stated.

Dr. Salamah encouraged the participating students to make the most of this opportunity by expanding their knowledge and international networks as the most important skill of adaptive learning from diverse academic cultures.

“Try to adapt and learn to be part of the global community. Life is too short and the world is big; being a stranger in another part of the world will shape resilience and strengthen your character,” she added.

Beyond fostering global interaction and exposure to international academic environments, Dr. Salamah encouraged students to produce scholarly articles focusing on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. These papers are expected to be published in reputable academic journals, with a minimum classification of SINTA (Science and Technology Index) tier 4.

Such participation, she said, also reflects Indonesia’s ethical and disciplined academic culture. With the entire program fully supported by FITK, UIN Jakarta is collaborating with professional educational travel agencies overseas.
