Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta and Forum Halal Tourism (FHT) have signed a collaboration agreement to develop the halal tourism industry. The agreement was caried out in line with the increasing trend of halal tourism at the local and global market.
Witnessed by Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development Lily Surraya Eka Putri, Dean of FIDK Suparto, AAKK Bureau Chief Jaenuddin, the agreement was signed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and the Chairman of Forum Halal Tourism Gunawan Surbakti on Monday (03/22/2021) at the Rector’s office, campus I of UIN Jakarta.
“This collaboration is expected to accelerate the halal tourism industry and market through research partnerships, training, and student internships. In addition, this collaboration is also expected to accelerate the revival of the national economy after the pandemic,” said Rector Amany.
She also added that this agreement is also in line with the concerns of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion Affairs and State Islamic Religious Colleges (PTKIN) to open vocational study programs. These study programs will target the halal industry and market in various sectors, such as tourism, food, clothing, and the sharia economic industry.
In response, the Chairman of Forum Halal Tourism, Gunawan Surbakti said that partnerships with universities are expected to be used as capital for halal industry practitioners in developing the halal tourism sector.
He also added this collaboration can also be a way for UIN Jakarta to encourage student involvement through an internshop program.
“Internships will develop the student’s professional aptitude, personal character, and will provide a greater door to opportunity after they graduate,” he said. (usa/zm)
