UIN Jakarta Fast-Tracks International Double-Degree Programs with Global University Partners
JAKARTA, UIN Online News – In a decisive move to expand its transnational education portfolio, UIN Jakarta has officially launched an intensive, university-wide operational alignment to roll out its comprehensive dual-degree frameworks. This strategic initiative allows both domestic and international students to simultaneously earn two distinct degrees from UIN Jakarta and its elite foreign partner universities upon graduation.
To cement the structural implementation of this global pathway, the university convened a high-level coordination summit led by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Ahmad Tholabi, J.D., Ph.D. Held at the main boardroom of the Rectorate, the summit gathered academic deans, the Quality Assurance Institute, the International Office, and directors of graduate schools to finalize curriculum alignment and cross-border credit recognition standards.
The expansion of these double-degree frameworks marks a sophisticated milestone for UIN Jakarta’s internationalization goals. For global applicants and prospective exchange students, this scheme offers a highly efficient academic fast-track.
Students can immerse themselves in Southeast Asia's dynamic socio-economic landscape at UIN Jakarta while completing part of their residency abroad, graduating with a powerhouse dual credential that drastically cuts down traditional study timelines and educational costs.
"Our double-degree program is engineered to provide an unparalleled cross-border academic experience," Professor Tholabi stated. "Through this scheme, students do not just absorb localized scientific theories; they acquire the sharp, multi-cultural perspectives and global network required to thrive in an increasingly interconnected international workforce."
Professor Tholabi further explained that UIN Jakarta is uniquely positioned to execute these complex international partnerships due to its robust cluster of nationally and internationally accredited departments. The university is meticulously adjusting its credit mapping to align with global transfers, ensuring smooth integration with European, Middle Eastern, and pan-Asian higher education networks.
The summit focused heavily on moving past traditional academic diplomacy into concrete classroom execution. University leadership reviewed structural governance, language proficiency infrastructures, faculty mobility, and joint research avenues that will run parallel to the student tracks.
"Our target is entirely centered on sustainable, high-impact execution rather than mere paper agreements," Professor Tholabi emphasized. "We are ensuring that every participating faculty establishes rigorous quality controls. This guarantees that our dual-degree graduates possess world-class competitiveness while remaining deeply anchored in universal ethical values, scientific objectivity, and rich cultural heritage."
The executive assembly resulted in a concrete roadmap, mapping out high-potential undergraduate and master's programs ready for immediate international pairing. It also strengthened institutional synchronized workflows between the Quality Assurance Institute and the International Cooperation Center to streamline international student admissions and visa processing.
By establishing this robust dual-degree architecture, UIN Jakarta is positioning itself as a premier, cost-effective hub for international education in Asia. The initiative reinforces the university’s long-term commitment to nurturing competitive global citizens, boosting global university ranking metrics, and contributing meaningfully to modern scientific innovation and transnational educational diplomacy.
