UIN Jakarta Faculty of Economics and Business Explores Academic and Industry Collaboration with MÜSİAD Türkiye

Sakarya, UIN Online News – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is expanding its international network by exploring collaboration with Müstakil Sanayici ve İşadamları Derneği (MÜSİAD), an independent association of industrialists and businesspeople in Türkiye. This initiative was marked by a visit from a delegation of FEB UIN Jakarta students and lecturers to the MÜSİAD Sakarya branch in Türkiye on Tuesday (28 October 2026).

The visit formed part of the International Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Programme and Lecturer Mobility activities, held in Türkiye from 25 to 31 October 2026. The FEB UIN Jakarta delegation comprised 10 students from undergraduate, master's and doctoral programmes, along with eight lecturers and researchers.

The visit provided an opportunity to connect academia with international industry stakeholders whilst exploring potential collaboration in education, research and human resource development. Through direct engagement with Türkiye's business network, students and lecturers gained insights into the business ecosystem, industrial dynamics, and trade and economic practices grounded in Islamic principles within a global context.

MÜSİAD is an independent association of industrialists and businesspeople established in Istanbul on 9 May 1990. The organisation has an extensive business network, with more than 14,000 active members employing approximately two million people. Its network spans 78 locations across Türkiye, with more than 100 representative offices in 84 countries, including Indonesia.

Dean of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr Ibnu Qizam, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., said the visit was a strategic step towards strengthening ties between higher education institutions and the international industrial sector. He emphasised that campus internationalisation should be realised through cross-border academic experiences and stronger connections with the global business ecosystem.

“The visit to MÜSİAD Sakarya provides a valuable opportunity for our students and lecturers to gain first-hand insights into how professionalism, independence and Islamic business ethics are practised within the industrial sector and international business networks. We hope this synergy will go beyond a single visit and develop into concrete collaboration in applied research, international internships, and the advancement of Islamic economics and finance between Indonesia and Türkiye,” he said.

During the meeting, the FEB UIN Jakarta delegation and MÜSİAD Sakarya representatives discussed several strategic opportunities, including potential trade partnerships between Indonesian and Turkish businesses, the contribution of industry to strengthening the Islamic economy, and opportunities to develop professional competencies and facilitate the integration of FEB UIN Jakarta graduates into the international business ecosystem.

The engagement also offered students fresh perspectives on the demands and challenges of the global labour market. This experience is expected to enrich the learning process by connecting academic theory with practical business experience, whilst better preparing graduates to compete in an increasingly international professional environment.

Through the International MBKM Programme and Lecturer Mobility, FEB UIN Jakarta continues to promote the internationalisation of higher education by strengthening academic mobility, expanding partnership networks and increasing engagement with the global industrial ecosystem. This initiative forms part of the university's broader efforts to excel not only in knowledge development but also in producing globally minded graduates equipped to compete internationally.
