UIN Jakarta Earns 2024 Gender-Responsive University Award
Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta has been honored with the prestigious Gender-Responsive University Award (PTRG) for 2024, achieving the Madya level. The award was presented by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Zainul Hamdi, M.A., Director of Islamic Religious Higher Education (Diktis), during the 3rd National Conference of Gender and Child Study Centers held in Mataram, Lombok, from October 15 to 18, 2024.
This recognition highlights UIN Jakarta’s success in integrating gender perspectives across its core functions—education, research, and community service. Other state Islamic universities recognized for their commitment to gender equality also received the award.
Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude and pride in the achievement. “Alhamdulillah, UIN Jakarta has been awarded the Madya level Gender-Responsive University title. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire academic community in fostering gender equality,” he stated.
Prof. Asep further emphasized the importance of maintaining and expanding the university’s gender-responsive initiatives. “This achievement should serve as a stepping stone for UIN Jakarta to strengthen the implementation of gender mainstreaming and inspire us to reach higher levels of success in the future,” he added.
Dr. Hj. Wiwi Siti Syajaroh, M.A., Head of the Gender and Child Study Center (PSGA), who accepted the award on behalf of UIN Jakarta, expressed her pride in the university’s accomplishment. “This is UIN Jakarta’s first time competing for the PTRG Award, and Alhamdulillah, we secured the Madya rank. I hope this motivates everyone to keep advancing gender mainstreaming within the university,” she said.
She also acknowledged the collective effort behind the achievement. “This award is not just a recognition of PSGA’s work but the result of collaboration across all departments. We aim to keep improving and aim for a higher rank in the future,” she added.
Prof. Amelia Fauzia, M.A., Ph.D., Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), congratulated the entire UIN Jakarta community for their dedication. “Alhamdulillah, UIN Jakarta has received this award as a Madya level Gender-Responsive University from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Congratulations to the Rector and all academic staff, especially PSGA, for this excellent achievement,” she said.
With this accolade, UIN Jakarta solidifies its commitment to promoting justice and gender equality in academia.
