UIN Jakarta-DPP PGMI Holds National Seminar on Islamic Education and Indonesia’s Future

Syahida Inn, UIN News Online - Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin asked madrasa teachers to spread peace and love with fellow human beings. Because, peace and compassion are Islamic teachings that must be practiced.

This was conveyed by Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin when he was the keynote speaker at the National Seminar on Islamic Education and Indonesia's Future at Syahida Inn UIN Jakarta, Tuesday (10/16/2018). The seminar was initiated by the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Madrasah Teachers Association (DPP PGMI) was attended by hundreds of madrasa teachers throughout Indonesia.

In addition to the Minister of Religion, the Director General of Islamic Education Kamaruddin Amin, the DPP Chairperson of the United Development Party Romahurmuzy, Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission VIII Ali Taher Parasong, and the Director of the Ministry of Religion's Curriculum, Facilities, Institutions and Student Affairs were also the speakrs for the event. Also present were the Rector of UIN Jakarta Dede Rosyada and the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of DKI Jakarta Saiful Mujab.

According to the Minister of Religious Affairs, Muslims are obliged to maintain peace through mutual respect between people. "The essence of Islamic education is humanizing humans. Because of that, teach religion with all your love and affection, "he said.

On the other hand, the Minister of Religious Affairs said that between Islam and Indonesia cannot be separated. This is because religious life in Indonesia is developing quite well. In fact, Indonesia is not a religious state or a country based on religion. Minister of Religion gave an example, Indonesian society from the womb to death cannot be separated from religious rituals.
