UIN Jakarta-Directorate General of Intellectual Property Signed Cooperation Agreement
Jakarta, UIN News Online - UIN Jakarta and the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) agreed to cooperate in protecting, managing and utilizing the intellectual property of UIN Jakarta lecturers-researchers. Cooperation is set forth in the text of cooperation No. HKI / HM.05.04-10 and Number Un.01 / R / OT.06.1 / 735/4/2018 on Protection and Intellectual Property Utilization.
The cooperation agreement was signed directly by Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Rector. Dr. Dede Rosyada MA and Director General of Intellectual Property Dr. Freddy Harris ACCS at Kemenkumham Building, Jakarta, Monday (04/09/2018). Accompanying the Rector, Vice Rector for Cooperation Prof. Dr. Murodi MA, LP2M Chairman Dr Ali Munhanif MA, Head of Cooperation and Institutional Development Division Drs. Ahmad Zulkifli Insagian Noor, Head of Puskumham Afwan Faizin MA, and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Jakarta Dr. Elpawati MP.
In his speech, the Rector said that this cooperation becomes an important part of developing research tradition among lecturers-researchers of UIN Jakarta by encouraging them to produce research works that are beneficial to the community as well as their patent rights. According to Dede, this impulse itself is the development of UIN Jakarta research policy which originally published in the accredited journal or indexed journal SCOPUS.
"If the current research results are written, published in the journal, then with this (cooperation, ed.) We want to encourage how the research results of UIN Jakarta lecturers become an invention or product," he explained.
He also added that this policy is also underpinned by the increasing value of research grants allocated by UIN Jakarta for research funding up to Rp 12 billion per year. "On the recommendation of the Ministry of PPN / Bappenas, UIN Jakarta also encourages how the value of such grants can produce new invention and product, not only limited to publication," he explained again.
On the other side, Freddy welcomed the signing of the cooperation of both institutions. As a university, he explained, UIN Jakarta is already on the right track in encouraging its lecturers to produce research in the form of invention that can be patented and used by the community.
Freddy even gave input to patented product-oriented research activities also began to apply to undergraduate students while taking their final assignment. Thus, their final work of scholarship is not only documented in library spaces, but a work that can be utilized for improving the quality of life of the community.
"Therefore, as a university, we expect UIN Jakarta as a university will become a leading sector in the development of intellectual property," he hoped. (usa)
