Student Center Field, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a formal ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day at the Student Center field on Monday, June 1, 2026. This momentum serves as a manifestation of collective commitment and concrete action by the entire academic community in practicing the values of Pancasila, both in national life and within academic pursuits.
The ceremony was attended by university executives, lecturers, administrative staff, and employees from the rectorate, bureaus, faculties, the Graduate School, institutes, and centers across UIN Jakarta. Serving as the Inspector of the Ceremony was the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, while the Commander of the Ceremony was entrusted to the Head of the Student Regiment activity unit, Nurul Hidayah.
Other ceremonial officers included the Principal of MI Pembangunan UIN Jakarta, Wahyudi, who read the preamble of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia; the Learning Development Coordinator of the UIN Jakarta School Business Unit, Ahmad Shohibul Wafa ZA, who read the text of Pancasila; and the Principal of MA Pembangunan UIN Jakarta, Zakariya, who led the closing prayer.
In his mandates, the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, asserted that Pancasila has proven to be both the foundation and the moral compass of the nation in navigating various challenges over time. As a state Islamic university, UIN Jakarta carries a strategic responsibility to integrate Islamic values, scientific excellence, and Indonesian nationalism harmoniously into every aspect of education management.
"Amid various modern challenges, Pancasila remains a moral compass guiding the nation's trajectory. UIN Jakarta bears a strategic responsibility as an institution that integrates Islamic values, scientific knowledge, and Indonesian identity," the Rector stated.
He added that the campus functions not only as a space for knowledge transfer but also as a vehicle for character building, reinforcing moral integrity, and fostering national insights. Through the execution of the Higher Education Tri Dharma, UIN Jakarta is dedicated to producing graduates who excel academically, possess noble character, and maintain a robust national commitment.
"The campus is not merely a space for transferring knowledge, it is a vehicle for character cultivation, reinforcing integrity, and expanding national awareness," he remarked.
Furthermore, the Rector explained that the commitment to grounding Pancasila values is realized by constructing a campus environment that is inclusive, humanistic, and welcoming to all groups. This principle of humanism is reflected in the provision of accessible infrastructure for the entire campus community, including individuals with disabilities, ensuring every individual enjoys equal opportunities to participate and thrive.
"We apply the principle of humanism, ensuring that the campus is accessible to individuals with disabilities and all layers of society. The feasibility of our facilities serves as a vital foundation in reinforcing Pancasila values within the university environment," he explained.
According to him, the comfort of the campus public spaces must be supported by adequate infrastructure, premium public services, and aesthetic values capable of creating a conducive learning environment. Various supporting facilities, such as public water fountains and the campus electric shuttle bus fleet, known locally as Bilis, represent ongoing efforts to deliver public services oriented toward humanity and the well-being of the academic community.
"Campus public spaces must combine comprehensive facilities, service quality, and aesthetic value. Consequently, the academic community will not only feel comfortable and at home but will also feel genuinely valued. The presence of water fountains, the Bilis electric shuttles, and other amenities are part of public services that reflect the Pancasila values we believe in and apply," the Rector emphasized.
Concluding his remarks, the Rector invited the entire academic community to utilize the Pancasila Day commemoration as a momentum to strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation, unity, and public service. He hopes that Pancasila values continue to serve as the baseline in transforming UIN Jakarta into an excellent, inclusive university that contributes meaningfully to national progress and global civilization.
The ceremony, which commenced at 7:30 AM WIB, proceeded in an orderly and solemn manner. The event concluded with a collective prayer offered for safety, national unity, academic success, and the future advancement of Indonesia.
