UIN Jakarta Clinic Continues Free Blood Sugar Testing Program at FAH UIN Jakarta

FAH Building, UIN News Online - UIN Jakarta Clinic held a free blood sugar testing event at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta on Wednesday (03/07/2024). The blood sugar testing is part of a screening program by the Social Security Administration (BPJS), conducted by all Primary Healthcare Facilities (FKTP), such as clinics.

The free blood sugar testing by the UIN Jakarta Clinic has received approval from the rector and Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital. This free blood sugar testing at FAH UIN Jakarta follows previous sessions held at the Faculty of Ushuluddin (FU) UIN Jakarta. The program will continue at the Faculty of Health Sciences (Fikes) UIN Jakarta.

Head of UIN Jakarta Clinic, Dr. Erwin Hermawan, M.A.R.S., explained that the blood sugar testing involves taking a blood sample from one of the fingers. This sample is then tested using a device that displays the blood sugar level within three to five seconds.

"Normal blood sugar levels range from 80 to 140 mg/dL," said Dr. Erwin in a live interview at the UIN Jakarta Clinic on Friday (05/07/2024).

In addition to being attended by the Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, M.Hum., CIQnR., the blood sugar testing event was also participated in by the entire academic community of FAH UIN Jakarta, including faculty members and students who are active BPJS holders. A total of 89 participants took part in the free blood sugar testing.

Screening participants at FAH were not limited to those with active BPJS at the UIN Jakarta Clinic. All active BPJS holders with other healthcare facilities were also allowed to participate.

It is known that active BPJS holders who have previously participated in free blood sugar testing cannot undergo screening again, as this testing can only be done once a year for each individual.

Dr. Erwin stated that the blood sugar test results among the screening participants at FAH varied, with some showing normal levels and others not. As the chief organizer, Dr. Erwin recommended that participants with abnormal blood sugar levels undergo further testing at healthcare facilities.
