UIN Jakarta celebrates World Arabic Language Day 2021

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta celebrates the World Arabic Language Day 2021 by holding webinars and various competition on Wednesday (12/22/2021).

The celebration of the Arabic language day was attended by a number of ambassadors and representatives from Arab countries. Among them are the Syrian Ambassador, the Algerian Ambassador, the Oman Ambassador, the Palestinian Ambassador, the Bahraini Ambassador, and the United Arab Emirates Ambassador.

This event also invited several speakers, including the Religious Attache of the Saudi Arabian Embassy to Indonesia, Sheikh Ahmad Bin Isa Al Hazimi, Arabic Lecturer at Ummul Quro University, Mecca Abdullah bin Nasir Al-Qarni, and the Director of the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences (LIPIA) Jakarta. Bandar bin Sa’id Al-Alam.

Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta Saiful Umam said that the celebration of the Wotld Arabic language Day could not be separated from the academic encouragement of Arabic studies at UIN Jakarta. “Arabic is not only the language of international communication, but also the language of science and religion,” he explained.

In his remarks, the Religious Attache of the Saudi Arabian Embassy to Indonesia, Sheikh Ahmad bin Isa al-Hazimi, positively appreciated the commemoration of the World Arabic Language Day at UIN Jakarta. According to him, this commemoration also marks Indonesia's closeness to countries in the Middle East.

For information, the committee of the Arab Nusantara Festival also announced the names of the winners of the competition. The competition itself was followed nationally by students from universities, madrasas, and Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).  (zm/usa)
