UIN Jakarta-BTN Syariah agree to cooperate on sharia financing
RSU, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta and PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a cooperation agreement (PKS) on sharia financing on Friday (04/23/2021) at the main meeting room (RSU), campus I of UIN Jakarta. Collaboration is also carried out for student internships and research activity.
The MoU was signed by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and BTN Consumer and Commercial Lending Director Hirwandi Gafar. Meanwhile, the PKS was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Amilin and the Head of the BTN Sharia Business Unit Alex Sofjan Noor.
Also present in the event, Vice Rectror for General Administration Ahmad Rodoni, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development Lily Surraya Eka Putri, and AAKK Bureau Chief Jaenuddin.
Rector Amany Lubis said that the collaboration between UIN Jakarta and BTN, especially in the Sharia Business Unit (UUS), is an effort to develop a mutually beneficial partnership between the two parties. In this case, BTN can provide banking product services to UIN Jakarta according to the objectives of the cooperation.
This cooperation, she added, was mainly to support the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education, namely education and teaching, research, and community service.
“We also hope that through its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), BTN can also provide scholarships to our students,” said Rector.
Meanwhile, Head of the BTN Sharia Business Unit Alex Sofjan Noor revealed that the collaboration with UIN Jakarta is a follow-up to the previous agreement. However, the previous collaboration focused more on student saving.
“For this time, we focus on UUS products, both for lecturers, employees and students financing,” said Alex.
However, according to Alex, BTN’s UUS will also provide an assistance for the implementation of Three Pillars of Higher Educatrino, either with the Faculty of Economics and Business or other faculties or institutes at UIN Jakarta. (usa/ns)
