UIN Jakarta and UGM agree to strengthen their academic cooperation
Yogyakarta, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) have agreed to strengthen their academic cooperation in the fields of education, research and medical services. This was put into a MoU that was signed by Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and Rector of UGM Panut Mulyono, Monday (06/24/2019) at UGM main meeting room. Also present in the MoU signing ceremony, Dean of FK UIN Jakarta Hari Hendarto and Faculty of Medicine (FK) Professor of UIN Jakarta Sardjana.
Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her remarks appreciated the cooperation to enrich academic climates of both universities. She also hopes this cooperation can encourage both academic development and scientific research in the fields of medicine and public health at UIN Jakarta.
Amany also said that FK UIN Jakarta had some differences with medical faculties in various other state universities.
“In addition to produce graduates with expertise in medical sciences, FK UIN Jakarta also provides them with Islamic values in parallel with modern medical sciences. Alhamdulillah, FK UIN Jakarta has graduated many scholars and medical professions,” she said.
In response, Rector of UGM Panut Mulyono also hoped that UGM can collaborate with other faculties at UIN Jakarta, especially the religious sciences faculty.
“Through the cooperation, it is expected that we can produce kyai who is also a scientists, and kyai who is also a medical doctors that will benefit the nation's prosperity and welfare” he said. (usa)
