UIN Jakarta and the OKU Regency Initiate Collaborative Scholarship Program to Enhance Community Education

Rectorate Building, UIN Online News — The Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) District Government conducted a consultation and coordination meeting at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta concerning scholarship provision at the Main Meeting Room, 2nd Floor Rectorate Building, on Friday, August 8, 2025. The visit was attended by the Regent of OKU and his staff, the Vice Rector, and the Dean of the Faculty of UIN Jakarta.

The visit included the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A.; the Vice Rector for Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D.; the Regent of OKU, H. Teddy Meilwansyah, S.S.Tp., M.M.; the Vice Dean for General Administration, Prof. Dr. Ambran Hartono, M.Si.; and their respective staff members.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., endorsed the scholarship collaboration initiative, expressing optimism that it would benefit the community in education. Furthermore, numerous academic representatives of UIN Jakarta have offered support for this collaboration scheme.

“This transcends mere political rhetoric; it embodies collaboration and a commitment to enhance and fortify community empowerment in OKU,” the Vice Rector for Cooperation stated.

H. Teddy Meilwansyah, S.S.Tp, M.M. hoped that this program will support local residents in OKU Regency in obtaining higher education at UIN Jakarta, particularly in medicine, to alleviate the shortage of medical professionals in the region. 

"We are fully assured of the remarkable quality and integrity of education at UIN Jakarta, recognizing that both the academic and religious instruction provided here are well proven. I do feel optimistic that the objective of this collaboration will be achieved successfully," the Regent of OKU hoped.

The UIN Jakarta and Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) District Government Scholarship Program is designed for the community, particularly in the OKU region, seeking medical education. This scholarship seeks to alleviate educational costs and enhance human resources by augmenting the number of trained physicians in the OKU region, hence preventing shortages of healthcare professionals in Ogan Komering Ulu District.
