PKU-MI Program Structure
The PKU-MI scholarship scheme offers three main academic tracks:
- Master’s in Ulama Cadre Education (PKU-MI S2)
- Master’s in Women Ulama Cadre Education (PKU-PKU S2)
- Doctoral Program in Ulama Cadre Education (S3 PKU-MI)
The curriculum is designed with strengthened core subjects in Qur’anic and Tafsir studies, Arabic and English as instructional languages, and international academic collaboration programs with institutions such as Al-Azhar University and universities in the Middle East and the United States.
Selection Mechanism and Academic Orientation
The selection process for PKU-MI consists of administrative screening, academic and ulama competency tests, and interviews. Candidates may either first pass the PKU-MI selection before applying for LPDP, or vice versa, depending on the pathway chosen.
Through this program, UIN Jakarta aims to strengthen the pipeline of moderate Islamic scholars who are academically strong, globally connected, and capable of contributing to both national and international discourse.
