UIN Jakarta Agribusiness Students Hold National Seminar to Mark 65th National Farmers’ Day and 25th Anniversary of Agribusiness Program
Auditorium Harun Nasution, UIN Online News — The Student Association of the Agribusiness Program at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta organized the "National Seminar of Gebyar Ajang Tani Inspiratif (Gantari)" in commemoration of the 65th National Farmers’ Day.
The event, held at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Thursday (25/9/2025), also marked the 25th anniversary of the Agribusiness Program. This year’s theme was “The Strategic Role of Young Generations in Achieving Food Self-Sufficiency Towards Indonesia Emas 2045.”
The seminar featured prominent speakers, including UIN Jakarta Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Ahmad Tholabi, M.A.; Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof. Husni Teja Sukmana, ST., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Agribusiness Professor Prof. Achmad Tjachja Nugraha, M.P.; Director of Food and Agriculture, Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Jarot Indarto, S.P., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Founder of PT Bumi Agrotech Bandung, Diky Indrawibawa, S.P., M.Agr.; Duta Petani Muda (Young Farmers Ambassador) Ahmad Fahrizal; and Ir. Adhie Widiharto from the DPN HKTI Research Team.
In his remarks, Prof. Ahmad Tholabi highlighted the seminar’s significance as both a tribute to National Farmers’ Day and an affirmation of young people’s commitment to food resilience.
“This event is a vital moment to commemorate the 65th National Farmers’ Day while serving as a tangible effort to demonstrate the young generation’s commitment to ensuring national food security. Therefore, food becomes critical in livelihood, national sovereignty, and the future of Indonesia,” he stated.
Jarot Indarto, of the Directorate of Food and Agriculture, explained the importance of adapting food planning to demographic shifts.
“Each age group has different dietaries. As our population grows older, we must anticipate what kinds of food will be required in the future. Such knowledge should be part of our collective understanding in planning strategies for food resilience,” he conveyed.
National Farmers’ Day is observed annually on 24 September in Indonesia to honor the vital contributions of farmers to national development. The commemoration aims to remind society of the central role of agriculture in safeguarding food security and public welfare.
