UI GreenMetric Closing Meeting 2026: LP2M Drives Strategic Transformation Toward UIN Jakarta Green Campus
Jakarta, UIN News Online — The Closing Session of the UI GreenMetric 2026 Consignment Meeting, held on 9–11 February 2026 at Adia Convention – Syahida, was officially concluded by the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Amelia Fauzia, Ph.D.
The meeting formed part of UIN Jakarta’s ongoing preparation for the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026, which serves as a strategic framework to evaluate and strengthen campus sustainability performance across multiple indicators.
In her remarks, Prof. Amelia Fauzia emphasized that participation in UI GreenMetric should not merely be understood as a pursuit of ranking achievements, but rather as a reflective instrument for institutional self-improvement and a strategic think tank to accelerate the university’s transition toward a substantive and sustainable green campus.
She underlined the importance of broad and systematic benchmarking to identify best practices from both national and international institutions. According to her, this process should inform the development of a comprehensive green campus master plan as a long-term roadmap for sustainability transformation at UIN Jakarta.
The LP2M leadership also highlighted that the success of the green campus agenda requires strong behavioral change across the academic community. Sustainability, she noted, must be embedded not only in policy frameworks and infrastructure development, but also in daily habits, institutional culture, and collective awareness.
In addition, research and community service activities are expected to increasingly adopt a social engineering approach—ensuring that academic outputs contribute directly to measurable environmental and societal change.
As a tangible expression of commitment, the closing session was marked by eco-enzyme distribution activities in the Kampus 2 area, symbolizing that sustainability initiatives are not limited to documentation and planning, but are also translated into real environmental action.
Through this initiative, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its position as a leading higher education institution that actively promotes innovation, environmental stewardship, and long-term sustainable development in line with the green campus vision.
