Two UIN Jakarta Faculty of Medicine Programs Earn Prestigious ASIIN International Accreditation
Faculty of Medicine, UIN News Online – Two academic programs at the Faculty of Medicine (FK), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, have officially received full international accreditation from Germany's Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN). The accreditation was granted through a decision issued by the ASIIN Accreditation Commission on 16 January 2026.
The accredited programs are the Bachelor of Medicine and the Medical Doctor Professional Program, marking another significant milestone in UIN Jakarta's commitment to international academic excellence.
Head of the Center for Quality Standards Development, Jejen Jaenudin, S.Ag., M.Ed. Led., Ph.D., explained that UIN Jakarta has consistently pursued international accreditation as part of its long-term strategy to strengthen academic quality, improve learning outcomes, and enhance the university's global reputation.
"Most recently, the Faculty of Medicine's Bachelor of Medicine and Medical Doctor Professional Program successfully obtained ASIIN international accreditation with the status of 'All requirements fulfilled,'" he said.
According to Jejen, the accreditation follows a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation conducted by an international panel of ASIIN experts. Based on the Commission's decision dated 16 January 2026, both programs successfully fulfilled all accreditation requirements and have been accredited through 30 September 2030.
"This achievement demonstrates that the medical education standards at UIN Jakarta are fully aligned with internationally recognized benchmarks," he added.
Prior to this accomplishment, several study programs within UIN Jakarta's Faculty of Science and Technology—including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics—had also earned ASIIN accreditation, reflecting the university's continuous progress toward international quality assurance.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS., expressed his gratitude for the achievement, emphasizing that international recognition represents a major step forward in advancing medical education at UIN Jakarta.
"Receiving ASIIN international accreditation is a strategic milestone in strengthening medical education at UIN Jakarta and ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared to contribute both nationally and globally," he said.
He further noted that the accreditation serves as a strong motivation for the Faculty of Medicine to continue fostering a culture of quality improvement and academic excellence.
"We sincerely thank the university leadership, the quality assurance institution, and the entire faculty team for their unwavering support throughout this international accreditation journey," he concluded.
ASIIN, officially known as the Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, is an internationally recognized accreditation body based in Germany that applies an Outcome-Based Accreditation (OBA) framework. Institutions seeking ASIIN accreditation must demonstrate the successful implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), including measurable program learning outcomes, continuous quality improvement mechanisms, and internationally benchmarked teaching and learning processes.
With this latest achievement, UIN Jakarta further strengthens its position as one of Indonesia's leading Islamic universities committed to delivering internationally recognized higher education and producing globally competitive medical professionals.
