Two Students Receive Professor Azyumardi Azra Scholarship

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Social Trust Fund (STF) UIN Jakarta once again provided Professor Azyumardi Azra Scholarship (PAAS) for two graduate students. This scholarship is expected to support their studies in producing quality historical research in the country.

The official release of STF UIN Jakarta on Thursday (03/25/2021), mentioned that the two PAAS scholarship recipients were Akhmad Yusuf and Mohammad Mashudi.

“All candidates have qualified capacities, but we cannot accept all of them due to several limitations,” said the director of STF UIN Jakarta Amelia Fauzia

 Yusuf is a master’s degree student from the Faculty of Adab and Humanities while Mashudi is currently completing his master’s study at the Graduate School (SPs) UIN Jakarta.

To complete his study, Yusuf researched the philanthropic activities of the Batavian Arab community with titled “Filantropi dan Etnisitas: Praktik Filantropi Islam di Kalangan Masyarakat Arab di Batavia tahun 1900-1945”. Meanwhile, Mashudi conducted research on Islamic law titled “Studi Perbandingan Metode Istinbath Hukum Fatwa-Fatwa Sayyid Usman dan Syekh Ahmad Khotib al-Minangkabawi.”

For their achievements, the leaders and administrators of STF UIN Jakarta hope that they can complete their studies as soon as possible and can publish their important findings in Indonesia's historical studies. (usa/zm)
