Two hospitals of UIN Jakarta will have sharia certification

Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta encourages its two hospitals, Jakarta Hajj Hospital and Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital to obtain Sharia certification. This is done so that the management and medical services of the two hospitals can prioritize sharia values.

This was said by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her speech during the opening of 7th Islamic Banking Days Webinar, hosted by HMPS Syariah Banking, FEB UIN Jakarta, Monday (11/08/2021). “We have obtained a sharia permit for the Hajj Hospital of UIN Jakarta in Pondok Gede and Syarif Hidayatullah Hospital in Ciputat,” said Rector.

She said that the sharia certification at the two hospitals was carried out within the framework of implementing the Islamic Social Entrepreneurship paradigm. This paradigm allows both hospitals to continue to receive income in the form of returns and profits as well as social action for medical services to society.

In recent times, she continued, the hospital sector has also begun to develop a sharia system. Sharia hospital certification is carried out by the MUI National Sharia Council in collaboration with the All-Indonesian Islamic Health Efforts Council (Mukisi).

Sharia provisions in the hospital sector also refer to the MUI DSN Fatwa No. 107/DSN-MUI/X/2016 concerning Guidelines for Hospital Operations Based on Sharia Principles, Sharia Hospital Certification Instrument Book and Mukisi’s Decree (SK) No. 132/2016 concerning Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for Sharia Hospitals and Mukisi’s Decree No. 133/2016 concerning Sharia Compulsory Quality Indicators.
