Towards QS Global Ranking, UIN Jakarta Holds Workshop for Community Service Supervisor

Diorama Room, UIN News Online -- The Center for Community Service (PPM) at UIN Jakarta held an orientation session for the 2024 Community Service Program (KKN) on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. This workshop specifically targeted Field Supervisors (DPL) for KKN, covering several important themes such as Methodology Strengthening and Social Mapping of Village Issues, Rural Community Development Practices, and Public Engagement and Activity Reporting.

The event, held in the Diorama Room, was attended by distinguished speakers including UIN's Professor of Social Welfare, Prof. Isbandi Rukminto Adi, Ph.D., Dindin Komarudin, AKS (Kumala Foundation, Kalpataru Awardee 2024), Dr. Eva Nugraha (UIN Jakarta), Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, and all DPLs for KKN 2024.

In her address, Dr. Azkia Muharom Albantani, M.Pd.I., representing the Institute of Research and Community Service (LP2M), expressed pride in UIN Jakarta's achievement of ranking 101-140 in Indonesia according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Rankings by Subject, alongside UGM and UI in Theology, Divinity, and Religious Studies.

"Hopefully by 2029, UIN Jakarta will achieve QS Global Ranking 1200, focusing on synergizing research and community service through programs such as Community Service based on 3T and Program-based Community Service," said Dr. Azkia on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

Ade Rina Farida, M.Si., Head of the PPM, stated that the main themes of the program include environmental awareness, rural infrastructure improvement, microenterprise strengthening, digital-based administration, and addressing stunting.

Furthermore, Vice Rector for General Administration Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, MA., in his remarks emphasized the importance of international KKN to broaden perspectives and address the current shortage of foreign students, which is currently below 165.

"e need to adopt foreign innovations and suggest that KKN reports need not be lengthy—5-10 pages are sufficient, clearly detailing methods and theories, which can then be developed into service or other journals," he added.

The event continued with presentations from the three speakers. Prof. Isbandi highlighted the empowerment efforts not only aimed at community members but also at institutions interacting with communities that have yet to utilize their full potential.

"We must effectively map out the issues to ensure that the solutions provided are targeted and sustainable," he concluded.

Subsequent presentations were delivered by Prof. Dindin and Dr. Eva, addressing various aspects of community service such as the selection of KKN locations with DPLs that align with the event's themes.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, providing DPLs with the opportunity to delve deeper into the topics covered.
