Toward a World Islamic Sustainable University, Rector Outlines UIN Jakarta’s Transformation Roadmap at Rakerpim 2026

Jakarta, UIN News Online — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially held its Leadership Work Meeting (Rakerpim) 2026 under the theme “Transformative Leadership for UIN Jakarta’s Global Vision,” taking place in Jakarta from 13–15 February 2026.

The forum was attended by Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, Vice Rector for General Administration Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Ali Munhanif, Vice Rector for Cooperation Dr. Din Wahid, Rakerpim Committee Chair Prof. Muhammad Zuhdi, as well as deans, vice deans, postgraduate directors, bureau heads, institution leaders, center heads, and unit leaders across UIN Jakarta.

In his presentation, the Rector outlined UIN Jakarta’s 2025 performance achievements and strategic vision for 2026. He emphasized that all institutional policies must align with Indonesia’s long-term vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, the national development agenda (Asta Cita), and the mandate of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“All policies and programs at UIN Jakarta must be aligned with the grand vision of Indonesia 2045, in line with the President’s Asta Cita, as well as the mandate of the Ministry of Religious Affairs to build an intelligent and beneficial society,” he said.

The Rector also presented UIN Jakarta’s 2025–2029 milestone framework, focusing on Capacity Strengthening for a World Islamic Sustainable University. This roadmap is structured around 47 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) derived from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Religious Affairs, and internal university priorities.

These indicators are translated into four main strategic pillars: internationalization, digitalization, green campus development, and revenue enhancement, which serve as the university’s core strategic framework.

UIN Jakarta continues to strengthen multiple strategic areas, including internationalization, optimization of institutional business units, revenue and financial performance improvement, public information transparency, green campus initiatives, and digital transformation.

The university has achieved more than 62% “Excellent” accreditation status, making it one of the highest-performing State Islamic Universities (PTKIN) in Indonesia. In research output, UIN Jakarta also hosts four Scopus-indexed journals, namely Studia Islamika, Ahkam: Jurnal Ilmu Syariah, JP3I (Jurnal Pengukuran Psikologi dan Pendidikan Indonesia), and Jurnal Kimia Valensi.

Highlighting the Green Campus program, the Rector noted that UIN Jakarta has significantly improved its global standing, reaching rank 238 worldwide and 31 in Indonesia in UI GreenMetric 2025, up from 316 globally and 36 nationally in 2024.

“If you have ideas, implement them—don’t just keep them in your mind. This is reflected in our Green Campus initiatives such as drinking water stations, waste management systems, and others,” he said.

In terms of digitalization, UIN Jakarta has implemented a Paperless Office (PLO) system in administrative governance, where most official documents are digitally signed, except for specific financial documents requiring wet signatures. This system improves transparency and accelerates decision-making processes.

In research and publication performance, UIN Jakarta ranked first in SINTA among PTKIN clusters in 2025, with the highest SINTA score. The Rector stressed that the university must now compete not only with PTKIN institutions but also with public universities nationally.

“We are no longer competing only within PTKIN. We must compete with public universities, leveraging our uniqueness in Islamic studies and science,” he stated.

UIN Jakarta has provided financial support to more than 6,600 students, totaling over IDR 61 billion in assistance. The university also maintains 16 Student Activity Units (UKM) to support student talents, along with structured coaching and facilities.

In human resource development, UIN Jakarta is currently the PTKIN with the highest number of professors, along with a continuously increasing number of doctoral-qualified lecturers.

The Rector also outlined four major programs for 2026:

  1. Institutional Transformation toward PTN-BH status
  2. Finalization of Institutional Integration of Educational Entities
  3. Development of Academic Infrastructure and Learning Facilities (including new faculty buildings, IT center, renovation of key facilities, and smart classrooms)
  4. Continuation of Priority Programs, including internationalization, digitalization, green campus, and revenue improvement initiatives

Closing Message: Building a Progressive Academic Legacy

Concluding his remarks, the Rector invited the entire academic community to continue working together in advancing UIN Jakarta while drawing inspiration from its founding figures.

“Figures like Harun Nasution and Azyumardi Azra fought hard for transformation and progress. We must decide what kind of legacy we want to build. UIN’s progress is the result of our collective effort. Let us continue to dream and realize a campus that is welcoming, open, and professional for everyone,” he concluded.
