Top 500 QS WUR 2025, UIN Jakarta Receives Award from the Kemendiktisaintek RI
Jakarta. UIN Online News - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek RI) conferred the Apresiasi Perguruan Tinggi Berprestasi award on the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta for its accomplishment in maintaining the top 500 institutions in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
During the awarding ceremony at the Kemdiktisaintek Auditorium on Thursday (20/3/2025), the commendation was presented directly by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Mendiktisaintek RI) to the Rector of UIN Jakarta.
In his address, the Mendiktisaintek also commended the 18 institutions that achieved placement in the Top 500 QS WUR by Subject ranking. However, UIN Jakarta stands out as a State Islamic Religious University with a notable rating of 101-150 globally in the field of Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies.
Other top national institutions that received the same accolade are the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Bogor Agricultural University, and Airlangga University.
"This is an exceptional accomplishment from the premier campuses of Indonesia. Such a feat is possible due to the diligent efforts of all members of the academic community at each institution," Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., M.Eng., B.Eng., the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, said.
According to the UIN Online News reports, UIN Jakarta is the only institution representing PTKIN under the Mendiktisaintek to receive this distinction. Therefore, the Rector of UIN Jakarta and his major representatives in charge of these efforts conveyed their thanks and spirits for the recognition bestowed.
"This is an acknowledgment for UIN Jakarta from the Kemdikti Saintek for State Islamic Religious Universities affiliated with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia," Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Rector of UIN Jakarta, expressed.
"In the future, we will persist in fortifying research, international publications, and educational innovations to sustain and augment this accomplishment," Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A., the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, stated.
"UIN Jakarta will persist in broadening its collaborative network to establish itself as a premier center of academic excellence in Islamic studies and other disciplines," Dr. Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Cooperation Affairs, assured.
"The prize conferred upon UIN Jakarta acknowledges its global academic achievements; thus, it encourages both national and international students to enroll at UIN Jakarta," Prof. Maila Dinia Husni Rahiem, Ph.D., Head of the Internationalization Taskforce Team of UIN Jakarta, conveyed.
Additionally, they affirmed that this recognition acts as an impetus for UIN Jakarta to strive in advancing the growth of diverse academic disciplines throughout several ranking categories. In addition to theology, UIN Jakarta has also documented advancements in other academic disciplines.
The ranking accomplishment demonstrates that religious colleges may rival the foremost national and international institutions. As per 2025, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has once again proved astonishing achievement in the global ranking system compiled by the Quacquarelli Symonds.
