To Increase Lecturer Teaching Skill Level, LPM UIN Jakarta Implemented TOT
LPM, UIN News Online – LPM UIN Jakarta held Training and Training of Trainer (TOT) Pekerti and AA on 4th floor, National Technology Center building (Pustiknas) Campus II UIN Jakarta. Pekerti itself is a Basic Skills Instructional Skills Program. While AA is an abbreviation of Applied Approach.
Training activities are presenting several speakers from UIN Jakarta, Diktis, Ministry of Religious Affairs, and UPI Bandung. The speakers are Ahmad Shodiq (UIN Jakarta), Mamat Slamet Burhanudin (Diktis), Dadang Sukirman (UPI), Yaya Sunarya (UPI), and Didi Supriadie (UPI). Every resource person brings different material. Ahmad Shodiq delivered the materials on the integration of science, Mamat Slamet delivered the material on Curriculum Policy, Dadang Sukirman presented the material about curriculum development, Yaya Sunarya delivered the material about the assessment of learning result, and Didi Supriadi delivered the material about basic teaching skills and the development of teaching materials.
The participants themselves came from the Faculty Quality Assurance Unit, LPM, and representatives from the study program at UIN Jakarta. Total participants amounted to about 40 people. The first day begins with material on science integration. Ahmad Shodiq, as the speaker conveys the importance of understanding the problems of science that are happening now. According to Shodiq, all knowledge is derived from Allah SWT, but in line with the development of the epoch occurred the process of externalization, desacralization, dualism and disorientation of science. Still on the first day, Mamat Slamet said that the dictates have determined various policies related to the curriculum.
On the second day, Dadang Sukirman explained in detail about curriculum development efforts. The curriculum itself according to Dada is a set of plans and arrangements regarding graduate learning achievements, study materials, processes, and assessment used as guidelines for the implementation of study programs. This curriculum should be the main guideline in the learning process.
On Day Three, Yaya Sunarya explains about the techniques in conducting evaluation and assessment of learning. According to Yaya, a good evaluation tool must meet the following criteria; valid, reliable, able to differentiate, and have a balanced level of difficulty.
On the fourth day, Didi Supriadi conveyed the basic techniques that a teacher must have. These basic skills include: Ability to open and close learning, strengthening, organizing variations, explaining, asking, leading small group discussions, managing classes, and teaching small groups and individuals.
