To Discuss Collaborative Opportunities, Leaders of UIN Jakarta Visits the Sultanate of Oman

Rectorate, UIN News Online – To explore collaborative opportunities in the field of education and scientific development, leadership of UIN Jakarta visited the Sultanate of Oman on April 5-7 2022.

This visit was led directly by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, accompanied by Vice Rector for General Administration Ahmad Rodoni, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Arief Subhan, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Nashrul Hakiem, and Dean of the Faculty of Psychology (FPSI) Zahrotun Nihayah.

Rector Amany Lubis from Masqat, the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman, Monday (04/11/2022), reported that on April 5, 2022 the UIN Jakarta delegation held a meeting with the Rector of Sultan Qabus University Dr Fahad al-Julanda. The meeting discussed the cooperation ooportunities between Sultan Qabus University and UIN Jakarta.

On the same day, the delegation was invited to perform iftar at the house of Deputy Minister of Waqf Dr Muhammad Al-Mi'mari in the Bosyar area, approximately 10 kilometers from the Crowne Plaza Muscat Hotel, Sultanate of Oman.

On April 6, 2022, the UIN Jakarta delegation traveled to Nazwa, approximately two hours from the capital city of Muscat, and to Ibra (approximately 164 kilometers from Muscat) to visit Nazwa University and Al-Syarqiyah University. These two campuses offer scholarships for international students, including  Indonesian students.

In the afternoon, the delegation held a dialogue with a number of students who are members of the World Indonesian Student Association (PPI) in Oman and Yemen. The dialogue was held offline at the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) and was attended by the Chargé d'Affaires, Perbinlu, Indonesian Diaspora in Oman, professionals in the fields of oil and information technology, home staff, and local staff. Meanwhile, dialogue with Yemeni students was carried out virtually.

“The students looked enthusiastic, especially when they were invited to become outstanding students to build the country and immediately returned to their country after they finished their studies,” said Rector Amany.

On April 7, 2022, the UIN Jakarta delegation paid an official visit to the Ministry of Waqf of the Sultanate of Oman. Their visit and was warmly welcomed by the Minister and Deputy Minister of Endowments (Waqf) of Oman. At the initiative of the Omani Waqf Minister, the delegation was invited to the German University and the History of Science Center in the Halban area, 40 kilometers from Muscat.

The delegation then left Oman assisted by the protocol department of the Ministry of Endowments of the Sultanate of Oman. (ns/al/usa)
