This is UIN Jakarta Rector's Message in Remembrance of Anti-Corruption Day

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta shows its contribution as an effort to eradicate corruption. Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenag RI) together with UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organized the World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) Festival 2024 in Harun Nasution Auditorium, Tuesday (22/12/2024).

Moderated by Pj. Public Relations of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dodo Murtado, the Rector of UIN Jakarta, and Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., opened the national dialogue with the theme “Six Ideas of Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin for Corruption Eradication”.

In his presentation, the ideas included the importance of transforming religion from merely a word to an actual work, making corruption a common enemy, starting change from within the Ministry of Religious Affairs, guarding against taking something that is not right, building a principled and honest generation, and emphasizing the importance of role models.

Attitude towards Corruption

The Rector of UIN Jakarta emphasized that all actions in the form of taking, stealing or controlling something without legitimate reasons are included in the act of corruption. Corruption is not limited to gender, lineage and religion.

“Religion must be placed as the spirit in eradicating corruption,” he said.

UIN Jakarta's Commitment to Eradicate Corruption

“Eradicating corruption is our mission,” said the Rector of UIN Jakarta.

The Rector of UIN Jakarta advised that UIN must be at the forefront in setting an example of budget efficiency. Then, an effective and efficient budget must be coupled with the productivity of performance.

“Finally, let us incorporate and build it into the curriculum. The curriculum is not merely lessons, but what we show in our daily lives is also included. We must all promote and encourage each other in any aspect of eradicating corruption,” he said.
