The Visionary Behind FK UIN Jakarta’s Laboratory Development: Professor Endah Wulandari
Jakarta, UIN News Online – Professor Dr. Endah Wulandari, a distinguished biochemist at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Jakarta, has significantly contributed to the advancement of health sciences through her groundbreaking research and dedication to education. Her work has led to numerous scientific innovations and discoveries, particularly in the field of biochemical research and medical diagnostics.
One of Professor Endah’s most notable contributions is her pioneering study on hematological examinations using menstrual blood. Her research, published in a prestigious international journal under the title "Innovative Hematology Analysis Using Menstrual Blood," explores the potential of menstrual blood as a medium for hematological testing. Traditionally, hematology tests require blood samples drawn from a patient’s arm. However, her findings introduce a novel approach that could provide alternative diagnostic possibilities for women of reproductive age, potentially transforming medical practices in this field.
Professor Endah’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree from National University (1996), followed by a Master of Biomedical Science (2004) and a Doctorate in Biomedical Science (2016) from Universitas Indonesia.
With over two decades of experience as a faculty member at UIN Jakarta's Faculty of Medicine, she has played an integral role in advancing biochemical research and education. Her expertise spans a wide range of biochemical studies, including genomics, protein function, and metabolism. Among her many research contributions, her work on "Cytoglobin Expression Under Hypoxic Conditions in COVID-19 Cases" has provided valuable insights into medical science, particularly in understanding the biochemical responses to hypoxia in infectious diseases.
Beyond her contributions to research, Professor Endah has also played a crucial role in academic leadership, serving as Vice Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Jakarta, from 2019 to 2023. Throughout her tenure, she worked tirelessly to support student development and academic excellence within the faculty.
Her commitment to education, research, and innovation continues to drive scientific progress both in Indonesia and internationally. As she remains actively engaged in groundbreaking studies, Professor Endah Wulandari stands as an inspiration for future biochemists and medical researchers, further cementing UIN Jakarta’s reputation as a center for academic excellence and scientific innovation.
