The US Embassy REPS visit FITK UIN Jakarta
FITK, UIN News Online – Regional Public Engagement Specialist (REPS) of the US Embassy Scott E Hartman visit UIN FITK UIN Jakarta on Wednesday (02/26/2020). His visit was warmly welcomed by the Dean of FITK UIN Jakarta Sururin, accompanied by Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Muhammad Zuhdi and English Education Department Head Didin Nuruddin Hidayat.
On this occasion, Scott said that the purpose of his visit was to socialize the English Program and Resources Assessment within the FITK environment by Briana Rogers from the English Language Specialist. “This assessment is expected to be able to know the educational support needs of UIN Jakarta lecturers and students in learning English,” Scott said.
In addition, the UIN Jakarta American Corner (Amcor) was introduced as part of the American cultural center at the UIN Jakarta 7th Library Center.
The Amcor facility, he continued, can be used to fulfil those needs, such as free Journal access (E library USA), English Lecture activities, introduction of Fulbright Scholarships and student exchange programs to the USA.
Acep Lukman Nul Hakim as the volunteer coordinator of Amcor UIN Jakarta and Endang Sri Nuryanti from MyAmerica Jakarta also attended the visit. It is hoped that students and lecturers will not hesitate to visit library facilities, especially the Amcor UIN Jakarta.
The English Program and Resources Assessment activity took place all day at the American Corner of UIN Jakarta, starting with the dean's visit, interviews and sharing session with directors and volunteers, followed by Focus Group Disscussion (FGD) with students, teachers and lecturers, as well as Massive Open Online watching party Course (MOOC) U Lab X.
