Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News - Lukmanul Khakim, an alumnus of the Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) UIN Jakarta and currently a Special Staff to the Minister of Coordinating Affairs for Community Empowerment, delivered a motivational speech in the the 135th graduation ceremony at Harun Nasution Auditorium on Saturday (22/02/2025).
He emphasized that graduation does not signify the end of your chasing fate, but the commencement of the true fight. He encouraged the graduates to prepare for career challenges and engage in community service.
"I distinctly recall the moment of graduation; it was beautiful. However, it also forced me to determine my subsequent actions," he recounted his experience.
He first intended to pursue a career in journalism after graduation, even selling newspapers door-to-door for a month. Nevertheless, destiny led him into the realm of politics as a result of his perseverance.
Moreover, he inspired the students that there is always a chance to realize one's aspirations. He noted that several UIN Jakarta graduates are now employed as government officials, entrepreneurs, and local or national politicians, thanks to their unshakable faith and fighting spirit.
Additionally, he also mentioned that UIN Jakarta's reputation allows its alumni to occupy many professional domains: Ministries, House of Representatives, and Province or District Parliaments.
"Let us collectively enhance the stature of UIN Jakarta alumni, enabling them to achieve greater distinction in various fields," he said.
In conclusion, Lukmanul Khakim advised all of the graduates to persist in generating and delivering knowledge to society.
"I wish for all of you to achieve success. It is defined by your ability to help others, as articulated by the Prophet Muhammad, ‘Khoirunnas anfauhum linnas’—the most virtuous individuals are those who bring the most benefit to others. Let us preserve our alma mater and fellow graduates," he closed the speech.
