The Role of Women in the 5.0 Society era, UIN Jakarta will hold seminar and Inspirational Women awarding ceremony

Rectorate, UIN News Online – UIN Jakarta will hold an International Seminar titled “The Role of Women in the 5.0 Society era” and the Inspirational Woman awarding ceremony at the Harun Nasution Building, Wednesday, (12/22/2021). The event were held to coincide with Mother's Day.

The international seminar is planned to be opened directly by the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Amany Lubis MA. The international seminar itself will be filled with a number of female figures who have important roles in various lines of profession and social service.

The first resource person was the Indonesian Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati. She will deliver a presentation on the role and challenges of women in building Indonesian families and society. She will explain the policy of the Government of Indonesia in accelerating the empowerment of women in the country.

The second resource person was the Indonesian Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah. She will explain the important role of women in the employment sector and the national economy. She is also scheduled to convey the government's affirmative policy towards Indonesian women workers.

The third resource person, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Indonesia and ASEAN, H.E. Fawziya Edrees Salman Al-Sulaiti. She is scheduled to present the experience of Qatari women and the role of the Qatari government in women's development.

The last resource person, the Indonesian Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Lena Maryana Mukti. She will explain the dynamics and challenges of women's involvement in the Indonesian public sphere.

The international seminar itself will be moderated by the Head of International Office (PLKI) UIN Jakarta Dadi Darmadi. Dadi is a lecturer and researcher who is actively involved in social and community research, including issues on women's empowerment.

In addition to international seminars, the activity will also be filled with the launch of two books and a photo exhibition by the Chancellor of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Prof. Dr. Hj. Amany Lubis. The two books were written as recordings of Rector Amany's critical thinking on various issues in Islam, science, and all things related to Indonesia.

Along with the commemoration of Mother's Day, the activity was also filled with the Inspirational Women awarding ceremony.

Meanwhile, Rector Amany said that this activity was held as a form of appreciation for the role of women in the figure of a mother. “A mother is an important figure because it really determines the quality of a family which also means determining the quality of a nation,” she said.

The Chair of the Activity Committee who is also the Head of the PSGA UIN Jakarta Ulfah Fajarini said the seminar would be attended by many invited guests. However, the committee will also pay attention to the strict health protocol mechanism.

“In addition, international seminars, book launches, and photo exhibitions can be watched virtually through the Zoom application and YouTube channel,” said Ulfah. (zm/usa)
