The 135th Graduation Ceremony, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Once Again Produces Qualified Graduates
Rectorate Building, UIN Online News - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta holds a graduation ceremony for graduates at the 135th Open Senate Meeting, conferring Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees at the Harun Nasution Auditorium on Saturday and Sunday (22-23/2/2025).
A total of 1,505 graduates from bachelor's, master's, and doctorate programs were inaugurated with the expectation that they would return to the community giving contributions to different professional domains and social services following applicable knowledge obtained during their study at UIN Jakarta.
Before the main event begins, the senate meeting opened with an address by the Secretary of the University Senate, Prof. Masri Mansoer Ph.D., M.R.E., followed by remarks by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, Ph.D., M.A. The senate meeting was also attended by the heads of faculties and postgraduate programs, academics, university senate members, bureau heads, and leaders of institutions and units at UIN Jakarta.
As for the First wave on Saturday, (22/2/2025), the first open senate session inaugurates 741 new graduates from 8 faculties: 165 graduates from the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), 154 graduates from the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM), 28 graduates from the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (FDI), 68 graduates from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), 23 graduates from the Faculty of Psychology (FPSI), 116 graduates from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), 172 graduates from the Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH), and 172 graduates from the Graduate School (SPS).
While the second wave on Sunday (23/2/2025), UIN Jakarta will inaugurate 764 students from five faculties: 149 graduates from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), 18 graduates from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), 402 graduates from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK), 88 graduates from the Faculty of Medicine (FK), and 107 graduates from the Faculty of Ushuluddin (FU).
The committee's official statement indicates that the 135th graduation ceremony at UIN Jakarta is themed "Realizing Innovative and Globally Reputable Intellectual Cadres" which aims to underscore its dedication to generate graduates who thrive academically and globally competitive.
"Amidst swift technological advancement and global challenges, you, as the forthcoming generation, bear significant responsibility for constructing a superior future," Asep Saipudin Jahar, Ph.D., M.A., Rector of UIN Jakarta, stated the significance of graduates' contributions during the opening of the event.
Consequently, he anticipates that the students will maintain their enthusiasm for pursuing knowledge and enhancing their talents. Graduates are encouraged to apply their expertise and further develop it as a basis for community service.
"With the knowledge you have gained, you are anticipated to assist in achieving the vision of our beloved country into Golden Indonesia," he said.
Furthermore, he inspired them to emerge as an academician with robust character and significant competitiveness: "Exhibit adaptability and compassion while making a significant contribution to the nation. Every information and ideals you have received will enable you to confront numerous future problems,".
In the end, he concluded: "Graduation is not the end of your journey, but a new chapter to begin with. Every triumph is inextricably linked to the support and prayers of your parents and family, and now they are consistently standing by your side,".
According to UIN Online News, the 135th graduation ceremony exemplifies UIN Jakarta's tradition for graduates since its foundation as a higher education institution. They are spread across various career trajectories and societal contributions, along with their areas of study and interests.
