Tablig Akbar at FK UIN Jakarta Discusses the Role of Women

Taajul Ilmi Mosque, UIN News Online - The Faculty of Medicine (FK) UIN Jakarta held a tablig akbar at Taajul Ilmi Mosque, FK UIN Jakarta, on Sunday (02/06/2024). This tablig akbar is part of the 19th anniversary celebrations of FK UIN Jakarta, which began on May 31, 2024.

In his speech, the Dean of FK UIN Jakarta, Dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT. FICS., expressed gratitude for the 19th anniversary of FK UIN Jakarta. He further mentioned that the tablig akbar was also aimed at enlivening the mosques on the campus of FK UIN Jakarta.

The Imam of Taajul Ilmi Mosque, Dr. Mukhtar Ikhsan, Sp.P(K), MARS., mentioned that one of the agendas at Taajul Ilmi Mosque is the Quran recitation (tadarus), which is emphasized to medical students to ensure they are proficient in reading the Quran. Besides Quran recitation, there are also recitals (hadrah), competitions, and various other active activities.

As a faculty predominantly composed of female students, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of gender equality and women-friendly environments during the tablig akbar.

The theme of the tablig akbar was 'The Strategic Role of Women in Health, Education & Religious Moderation'. The discussion session began with the first speaker, an alumna of FK UIN Jakarta's first batch, Dr. Sakinah Ginna Rosmawati, followed by a presentation on religious moderation by Prof. Dr. Zaitunah Subhan.

Dr. Sakinah Ginna shared her career and dedication as a doctor and encouraged students to pursue their dreams to become beneficial individuals to others. "Women should make good use of their productive years," she said.

In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Zaitunah Subhan emphasized that the role of women is equally important as that of men. Additionally, Prof. Zaitunah stressed the importance of understanding Islam in a moderate manner.

The tablig akbar was enlivened by recitals and mahalul qiyam by several medical students. After the speakers' presentations, the congregational zuhr prayer was held at Taajul Ilmi Mosque.
