Sustainable practices targets Measure and set targets for more sustainable commuting
Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University is committed to establishing clear sustainable practices targets and measuring performance to develop a low-carbon campus transportation system. The University sets concrete targets to reduce dependence on private fossil-fuel vehicles while actively promoting environmentally friendly mobility options such as walking, cycling, electric vehicles, shuttle buses, and public transportation integration. In 2026, the University implemented ten integrated transportation initiatives backed by measurable operational goals that support the Green Campus program.

To meet its sustainable commuting targets, one of the University's primary initiatives is the operation of six electric buses (Bilis) that provide free internal transportation services for students, lecturers, staff, and visitors. These electric buses connect major academic buildings and facilities across the campus, improving accessibility while measuring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with conventional vehicles. The electric bus service also minimizes the need for private vehicles to travel between different campus locations.
